Just a reminder from the AFHOA Board concerning blowing loose leaves out into the street. This position was adopted by consensus of all homeowners present at the AFHOA meeting on Feb. 5, 2019 and is included in the minutes.
“… leaves should not be blown into the street, which is actually in violation of Raleigh City ordinance. The consensus was that homeowners should bag their leaves and landscaping crews should be told to haul the leaves off or bag them up. Also, leaves should not be blown into the [stormwater runoff ditches or] culvert as it could cause flooding in the drainage ditch [and homeowner property].”
The City has released the schedule for loose leaf pick-up this year and it turns out our Zone 7 is scheduled to be picked up, for the first time, between 11/15/2021 and 11/29/2021. A second pick-up has not been scheduled.
(Leaf piles in the street pose a safety hazard in for vehicles and a fire hazard when luminaries are present.)
